Been trying to work very hard these few days... but whenever I reach home, I'll just play computer, and practically do nothing else. I feel so guilty...
Anyway, I've ordered $102.50 worth of Prelim Papers from the Bookshop. I've planned to complete 2 papers per day, of 2 different subjects. I must improve myself further, and aim for straight As probably... WORK HARD!!!!
Jiayou to all people out there!

My SA1 Checklist
OKAY... So this is the first exam of the year. A-Level year. I shall keep track on moi pathetic progress...
1) GP - Essay was quite enjoyable... could pen down my thoughts quite fluently. Comprehension was a tad too dry and bombastically annoying. 'Age of Uncertainty'... I'm very ascertain that I cannot do well in this Comprehension please.
2) Chemistry - Enjoyed doing it, as usual. Not because it was easy for me, Chemistry paper is always interesting. Especially the drawing displayed formula part and the one which they give you a reaction chain and determine and unknown chemicals/reactions. 100 Cheers for Chemistry!
3) Maths - This time I flopped unexceptionally bad on this. I was like quite blanked out for a moment, but the Vectors question sort of resurrected me from dropping further into the abyss. The PnC + Probability + Binomial Distribution was longwinded like nobody's business... If I score well in that section, I might consider doing logistical studies next time, because it involves tumultuous shifting and arranging a large horde of people and things. Choreograph the next 1000-people Olympics opening-ceremony performance?
4) Physics (Thurs) - Spotted some familiar questions in the paper. Overall, it was very manageable. Hoping for an A =)
5) History (Fri) - Couldn't finish the very last concluding paragraph. URRGHH! Anyway I was quite frantic throughout the paper, cuz there wasn't enough time. I planned my time wrongly also... so had to compromise the last 1 out of 3 essays. I really hope I can pass History... =/

Choral Exchange Programme @ VJC
Today we went to VJC for a choral exchange programme with several other choirs, of different calibres and sizes. We performed Natchwache and Alleluja, and it turned out to be quite disastrous, for we had already went through many practices on the songs. After our performance, I totally lost my mood to do anything... except for reading through my History notes. Shall not dwell on it anymore, and I hope that the choir can really sense the competition and do their best. No more lackadaisical attitudes, no more frivolous behaviour in Choir please...
Off for dinner, bye.

Untitled
Today's choir practice was abit stricter than other sessions. Maybe we're too frivolous or overly hyperactive... anyway after Choir I went out for lunch cum studying trip @ Changi Airport with a group of J1s. We decided to eat at Popeye's Restaurant, and I ordered a Fish Fillet Burger meal for $7.20... quite reasonable for the delish Cajun's Fries and an okay-sized burger. However, I was quite displeased with how the lady at the counter dumped the packet of fries onto my tray and the content was strewn all over! After a long conversational lunch-time, we were attempting to search for a suitable place to study, but we ended up strolling around the airport, traversing across terminals like wandering nomads.
We found ourselves home at a cozy Mcdonalds Outlet, and everyone managed to settle down after an hour of non-stop chattering. Spent some time on Maths... and discussing tutorials with the juniors. Overall, the process was quite unproductive [for me], but it was interesting yea. Shall study with them in school if there's chance. Gotta mug Physics now! Adios!

The Funny Things in our ever-modernising World
This world is theoretically getting better as science and technology advance in lightning-speed style. Breakthrough in the seemingly eternal search for AIDS vaccine, filtering water with useful germs and producing methane gas simultaneously which can be tapped as energy resource, miraculous discoveries in stem-cell researches... the list goes on. Given all these commendable efforts of the contemporary world, does it necessarily equates to a better life? Please do not mind all the little grudges I'm going to make after this paragraph.
The lift at my block which was just recently renovated is malfunctioning spasmodically. The lift just get stuck at any particular floors and never descend. This is uber-inconvenience, especially after a long dreary day at school, the desire to go home and relax on the comfy sofa just went 'poof!'. Darn lift that is so trashy...
Another thing that is affecting me psychologically is the rampant advertisements that you see on moving buses and the television. I have to say some of the advertisements are quite stupid and irrelevant, especially the one promoting 'Ghee' with young innocent Campus Superstar Shawn Tok. I think it would be better if the person in the advertisement is a celebrity chef or whatsoever, rather than a little boy who is seemingly devoid of any appreciation for that can of fatty-goodness. The caption in that advertisement also made me puke... it made me imagine the cherubic boy wolfing down dollops of scrumptious Ghee... awww.... One more lame ad is the Glade Car-Perfume. Dumb women would just throw their car down the cliffs like used sanitary pads and enthusiastically flagging at the incoming car that emits an aura of the omnipotent perfume. Gosh... the frivolous nature of the ad made me feel that the perfume is so worthless.
Maybe you're thinking that I'm totally overreacting... whatever your afterthoughts, I still think that people living in this intellectual society should do justice to themselves by producing more reflective and relevant advertisements rather than employing eye-candies and bimbotic idiots to showcase their talents, while rendering the product in the background of the ad oblivious to people.

Busy is the new code of Life
Everyone's getting extremely busy these days... exams, competitions... Oh dear this is the ultimate life-drainer. I need to find a perfectly placid day, sit down on a comfy mat and cleanse my soul by a Zen deep-meditation. I can picture this tablaeu in my clogged-up mind, like an oasis in the middle of a desert filled with giant sandstorms. Right now, I need to focus, and aim towards my goal. Then I can relax in peace... temporarily. I need to get myself accustomed to the frequent exposure of academical terror otherwise I'll turn into a mad psychopath someday. Got to complete my long-winded AQ now... Adios Amigos!

13 Days to SA1 !
Oh-my-sweet-Mama-from-Oklahoma SA1 is just 13 days away and I'm not glamarously prepared for it! There're like quite a handful of perplexing chapters that I have not found considerable amount of enlightenment in. Let me list them out to remind myself...
Maths: Perm and Comb (This thing is making my haircrop all frizzy and tangled)
Chemistry: Amino Acids and Proteins (In the midst of comprehending all the structures)
Physics: Waves/Oscillations (Just need abit of final touch-up)
GP: A persistent lack of substantial knowledge. I need to read voraciously, have to extent my reading time into toilet breaks.
History: It's on the path of improvement, just need to read through the horribly-thick notes a few times.
All these nitty bits of stress are irritating me!! I'll make sure after this SA1 I'll go watch a movie!! Feel like receiving jolts of psychological terror from horror flicks. 'Let the Right One In' ? Haiz, gotta go now! Cya Folks!
Love from BlacquePeppoir (steak)

Choir Camp is the Ultimate Statement of Fantabulous Achievement!
YAY! for the Choir Camp 2009 !! I should announce that although it made me entirely jaded, it's worth all the painstaking efforts to keep myself alive throughout the camp. I've got to interact with more people, especially the J1s, and also had my first night-out at the notoriously ghostly-stories-laden school hall! Overall, the whole thing was quite enjoyable. One thing that I want to mention is the Amazing Race. It was really fun and out-of-the-world to some extent, especially when some team members made a joke out of themselves at a densely-populated public space!
Oh... the bus trip to Giant was fiendishly horrendous, with the rain pouring like mad, and including a horrifying brew of ferocious thunder and lightning. We were soaked in generous amounts of good water despite the prescence of sheltered narrow pathways which were pieces of pathetic temporary means of... shelter.
At Giant MegaShopalotMall, we had to search for the prices of different items that were strewn all over the labyrinth, like savage discount-thirsty shoppers. On the given list there was an item named 'Austin Nichols Wild Turkey'... Qiuting, Samia and I combed and ransacked the whole section of Meats, but we couldn't find any traces of this darn turnkey. In the end, someone from another team told us that it's actually a bottle of wine... No one could ever expect a bottle of wine to bear such an extraordinarily perculiar god-forsaken name! [There were other ridiculously un-tempting product names like Lucky Rabbit Potty and Mite Bolster, yep they were left on the shelves for the dust to settle...]
To conclude our escapade at Giant, we did a short amusing 'advertisement' on 3 selected products. Didn't know we could garner so much attention with Wally wielding a pink fairy wand and Ding Yang looking like a Naruto-clone with a belt on his head. Also, Jennifer managed to spawn a Korean-lang frenzy among those Korean wannabes, who were inveterately besotted with a tiny jargon of foreign language. Our Choir is so amazingly diverse!
All's well that end with a light-hearted prize-giving ceremony, and the guys in my team displayed their enthusiasm with yet another frivolous cheer full of Korean vibe. The camp was officially over by 6.10pm and all of us returned home with heavy, bulky bags, yet our spirits remain up high, our passion for Choir burning more intense than ever.
